Updated: Jul 19, 2023

Eyal Reginiano, known professionally as Reginiano, is an award-winning Israeli musician. Reginiano achieved his current position from a combination of being self-taught and studying at the Rimon School of Music under the tutelage of renowned composer Noam Sheriff. Reginiano's music is a unique blend of folk, rock, jazz, classical, and world music. He composes and arranges his music, and plays a variety of instruments. He also sings and collaborates with other performers. His 2010 debut album, ‘My Unpolished Diamond’, featured musicians such as Meir Israel and Ofer Pinhas. Two years later, he released his second album, ‘Alina,’ a concept album with five chapters that combined folk, tango, and classical music. Reginiano’s accolades include the 2013 Rimon College Composers Contest with his piece ‘Thinking of Chopin.’ The following year, he released a satirical animated video, ‘Ein Od Milvado,’ and in 2015 he wrote music for and performed with the modern acapella choir, Vocalocity which performed in Israel and Denmark. In 2016, he released his album ‘Black n Grey’ which featured musicians such as Michael Haran, Victor Stanislavsky, and Keren Hadar. Since 2019, Reginiano has released several singles that have received international recognition and awards. In 2020, the song and music video ‘Home Again’ featuring Keren Hadar was released during the COVID-19 quarantines and won best COVID film and best music in Tokyo's International Cosmopolitan Film Festival and in 2021, the song ‘Turning Dark’ featuring singer Morten Kjær won multiple international awards.

Reginiano founded the Reginiano Project and Trio for live performances and works with musicians on vocals, guitar, cümbüs saz, piano, violin, contrabass, and drums. He continues to write and release music that pushes boundaries and his individual sound and style have earned him a place in the hearts of music lovers around the world.

Reginiano’s new single ‘Time to Let Go’ (Independent) expresses profound truths through music alone. It lets the music speak through guitar and ney (flute). In an ever-changing world often chasing short-term validation, this music harkens back to a time when people looked to their musicians for healing and a reflection of the timeless. It is issued alongside a video shot at Apollonia National park in Israel – an area close to a beach, an old mosque, and surrounded by historical artifacts. The music is uplifting and beautiful, and the gentle voice lines add a sense of calm and peace still without the need for words but using the simple combination of music to bring everything together.

The combination of guitar, ney, and voice inspires visions of the desert landscapes of the Middle east – borderless, timeless, and unique in their beauty. The guitar provides the gentle, solid backdrop against which the ney rises and soars.

The simple beauty of this music is disarming and provides thoughtful space to stop, sit back, allow the sound to wash over you, and understand we are connected wherever we are by something as profound as music. The message behind the song is to accept life and learn to let go when you find yourself swimming against the tides.
